Why I Love to Foster

We recently spoke with one of our fosters, Trish Clark, about her experience with fostering. Here’s what she had to say…

Why I foster? I am often asked how I can foster and give my foster dog away after a few weeks or longer to an adopter.

I have learned,  you have to have the right mindset. If you ask any person in rescue, fostering is truly one of the most, if not THE most important task you can do for rescue. You get to see the animal’s true personalities living in a loving home. Some of these dogs have known only miss treatment, neglect, starvation and abuse.

I’ve lost count of the number of foster dogs that I have had in my home, I’m way behind many other people but after one goes to their home, in about three days I’m ready for another one. My dogs are used to it, they just shrug and say “whatever.”

So truly think about fostering, open your home, open your heart.
Save these wonderful souls.
