Oct 23rd – Meet & Greet – Pupdate

Our Saturday Meet & Greets at the Adoption Center are exciting for our volunteers & adoptable animals, who are brought in by our fabulous Fosters.  But, it never fails, while always exciting and busy, the aftermath is one that typically includes lots of snoring and stretching out for a good snooze.

Ahhhhhh, the calm after the storm . . . .

Roosevelt snoozing in the car on the way home from Meet & Greet. Roosevelt was found roaming all alone. He was very neglected, but that hasn’t dimmed his loving attitude. This adorable Shih tzu is approximately 4 years old and must go through heartworm treatment. He also had an injured eye that had to be removed. But, that doesn’t slow Teddy Roosevelt down! He is looking for a Forever Home who will love him always!

But, what did our Meet & Greet look like this week?

Well, we had a little more time to be silly . . . .

Elise & some of her current favorite pups. Border Collie, Cowboy and tri-color Australian Shepherd, Nyx both had their Glamour Shots taken by our photographer. So, after all of that modeling work, they were due some cuddling!! Both pups are now available for adoption!

We had time to play . . . .

Myles & Rory had a blast playing in the Admin Area during Meet & Greet.  Both of these puppies are looking for Forever Homes!

We had time to cuddle . . . .

That is our little girl, Rory. Our best guess is that she is a Papillion mix. She and her mother (Lorelai) were found cruising South Dallas looking for a ride out of town. She is a sweet girl who is ALMOST potty trained. She has mastered bell training very quickly in her foster home. Volunteer and Foster, Olga served as her “wrangler” on Saturday for a few hours. These two quickly became fast friends.

We had time to dress up . . . .

Our sweet GSD, Duchess, did not find the Wonder Woman costume to be something she loved. Instead, she chose to “hide” on the couch. No, we didn’t have her wear it for long.  She was embarrassed by the shiny material and felt the pleated skirt added weight to her girlish figure.

We had time to snooze . . .

Libby arrived to Meet & Greet early to pose for photos. She will be available for adoption starting THIS WEEK! She tried stretching out on the couch for a couple of minutes of shut eye before the next wave of visitors. Libby is most likely a Dane/Lab mix and is so stinking laid back!

We had time for Mama Ande to enjoy the sun . . .

Ande is our most recent Mama to be saved from the Balch Springs shelter. This sweet girl is Mama to 9 puppies!! She loved her time in the sun doing some squirrel watching!

Why she needed to enjoy the sun . . . .

Poor Ande is severely underweight and fights dehydration due to the many puppies she is feeding. Babies start on gruel now . . . looking for puppy fosters. Sign up now for puppy breath!!!
