April 16th: Weekend Update

Whew!!!  Have we reached mid-April already?!
Craziness and fabulousness abounds at Take Me Home Pet Rescue!

Meet two of our sweet princesses, Cinderella & Ariel.

At approximately 16 weeks, they are the youngest terrier mix pups who were pulled from playing in the streets of South Dallas/Dowdy Ferry just 7 days ago. What a difference a week in the loving hands of volunteers can make!!

Ariel & Cinderella have both been vetted and were found to have hookworms and whipworms. These were the nasty internal parasites, while they were infected with fleas and ticks on the outside.

These poor babies were so lethargic for most of the week. They were so thankful to have a bath, begin medication and recover in a loving foster home. Oh, and we mention the fabulous food to nourish their body?

Thank you to those who have cared for these sweet babies. And to the donors who help us help them. We will be asking for sponsors for these babies this week.

If you would like to meet these babies, please fill out an no-obligation application on our website at www.tmhpr.com/adopt

Nemo & Squirt Invite You!

Nemo & Squirt are all ready for our BIG Spring Feline Fling that will be taking place at our Adoption Center on Sunday, April 23rd.  Don’t miss this opportunity to meet MOST of the kittens and adult kitties of Take Me Home Pet Rescue.

Yep, the kitties are taking over!!

If you would like to meet our kitties, enjoy some sweets and beverages, please come by!  We will also be discussing what it means to foster and volunteer at Take Me Home Pet rescue!

Raising Funds for Grace

Grace has been with Take Me Home Pet Rescue since Christmas.  Her story is just one of the many Dowdy Ferry dogs.  She was owner surrendered as she lay in her own yard, unable to stand.  We took her in, knowing the medical bills would be large, if not HUGE.

But we knew we had the donors and followers who would help us raise the funds needed. Grace is now recovering from her last procedure and will be ready for adoption soon.  She is a beautiful face that represents what can happen when humans care.  Please click on Grace’s photo above (or here) to read her story and find out how to give in her honor.

Pandora Sets Adoption Record

This little kitten has set a record!  Within 24 hours she was rescued AND found herself a Forever Home!

This sweet & silly girl was found by a volunteer hiding out under her family’s office, on a Friday afternoon.  A foster stepped up to take in the sweet 4 month old kitten and she was whisked off to the vet the same day for an intake exam.

Twenty-four hours later, hanging out at Meet & Greet and her new family stopped in! It was love at first sight.  A quick spay at the vet this last week and she will be off to her Forever Home this next weekend!  Thank you to all who helped this little girl!

Needed:  Calico Kitten Sponsors

Did you know that vetting and care of a kitten is about $200?  And that is if the kitten is healthy!!  So many kittens come from shelters with internal parasites and upper respiratory infections, so healthy is rare.

We only charge $125 for kitten adoptions, so this means, to take in a kitten, we must have sponsors.  We are currently looking for sponsors for our Calico kittens that came from South Texas.

All kittens are in foster homes and will make their Adoption Center debut on April 23rd during our Spring Feline Fling!  Lolo is a beautiful Torti, Enchantress is a dilute Calico, Erwin is the only boy of the bunch, Laurel is also a dilute Calico and little Livie is the only Calico.  They are an active bunch and ready for adoption!!

Come to our Spring Feline Fling completely ready!  Fill out your no-obligation application prior to meeting the kittens.  Having your vet check prior to the event will mean you are ready to choose your furry family member.
